MUN (Model United Nations) Day 2 – Simulation

Melati Hall situation

Hello readers!!!
The very interesting day finally came on 8th of November 2015. It’s the day to have MUN simulation after getting the knowledge on the previous day. We got the name of the country on 9 pm. We got two topics which were ‘Violence Against Women’ and ‘Human Trafficking’. I got Kingdom of Norway. Woahh... the only one thing that I know about Norway was it is a northern Europe country. Students were divided into 2 groups in 2 different places which were in Melati Hall and Beringin Hall. I got in Melati Hall. I started searching for more info about Norway. I was really shock. That is a beautiful country. it was a country with only 5,1 millions people. Norway had already achieved many world achievements. They were the richest country, the most safety country, the most comfortable country. Education in Norway is free until University. Norway is a country with high living cost. On 2002, Norway was the world third largest oil exporter. The unemployment percentage was only 4,2 %. Actually there are so many things more about Norway. Mostly I searched about human trafficking in Norway. Then I went to sleep.
I wake up on the early morning. I took shower and had my breakfast. After that I went to Melati on 9 AM, no one’s there. I took a sit and waited for the others. One by one my friends came into the hall. I was a bit nervous. But it’s okay. The committee was preparing the seat based on the country name and I was looking for my seat. I found nothing. I asked to the committee, they said they haven’t printed my country’s name and asked me just took a seat wherever I wanted.  I was a bit disappointed, coz I got the very last row. I couldn’t be focus.  The game was started. The chairs were asked who wanted to speak for general speaker list. I raised my handmade country’s name. lol. I presented a human trafficking case. They didn’t even tell me what’s the topic that we’re going to talk about. But then, they said that the topic was Violence Against Women (VAW).  Hahaha, okay, I was shy. I just thought about VAW, i didn’t prepare much for that topic, so I didn’t talk much. The conference was lead by three delegates. They were Ethiopia, Iraq, and Ghana. They were really active. Almost on all occasions they performed. What about me? I just sat and listened to them. On the first part, I only performed twice.
Second part, this was after ISHOMA. I moved to the front beside the delegation of Iraq. I got my energy back. I become more active than before. I helped my bloc in making the working paper. My bloc’s member consisted of 64 countries. We made It during the unmoderated caucus time. It’s fun. Then we should present it in front of all delegations. The delegation of Iraq, Ethiopia, and Norway were the representative of our bloc to present the working paper. They were only two blocs. After presenting, there was asking answering questions. It should be clarification question type, but for now, we can ask everything related to the working paper. It’s over on 4 PM. It’s a long day. But surely I was happy. I want to join MUN club someday. They said, when you are talking in MUN conference, it means, WORLD are listening to YOU. Awesome!!!!!. The result came out. Alhamdullilah I got the honorable mention. Thank you, I was very happy although it’s not outstanding or best delegate. I was glad to Allah to give me chance to learn about MUN on my age.
