“THE PARADOX OF UNPLANNED” - Book review: World Changers: 25 Entrepreneurs Who Changed Business as We Knew It by John A. Byrne

Gambar
A compact 360 pages length book that contain 25 amazing rollercoaster story behind the greatest of the great entrepreneurs in the worlds. I read this book because I never completely forget my dream to be a business woman in the future since elementary school. This book indeed gives me new knowledge and horizon because out of these 25 entrepreneurs, I only acknowledge half of them hehe. Sometimes, in the process of learning makes us know more thing we do not know about.  Talking about the paradox of unplanned, I am learning in school and in XLFL that it is really important to set goals and plan how to get there. Yet, it is very intriguing while reading this book, majority of the entrepreneurs never plan to grow and to be this big as they are now, and my question “why they get to place that they do not plan to? And is that true it just happens naturally?”. Anyway, that is just my biggest thought and question after reading this book. If anybody want to give their opinions about...

Book Review: Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert T. Kiyosaki

Gambar
Here it is, the first book that triggers me to read more and more after a while not reading any. Rich Dad, Poor Dad is actually an old book on my room’s bookshelf. It belongs to my sister since 2014. The title always looks interesting. I tried to read it when I was in high school at summer holiday but I ended up only read the first 2 pages and felt exhausted by its contents. Or in simple way, I was too dumb for the content, I could not understand it. Then this summer holiday in 2019, I was not accepted in internship program I applied in then I decided going back home and spending some of my time in my room trying to figure out what should I do to make this holiday more fulfilling. I looked at the bookshelf and there was this book and I just decided to read it since I think by reading something I could feel more fulfilling.  Surprisingly, this book is so good, I really can relate why it is becoming best-selling book. I can’t stop reading it because every page leads me to a...

The Privilege of Being Able to Choose - A Breaking Night by Liz Murray book review

Gambar
Realize it or not, in this life, we always have the power to choose which path we want to live in. I realized that for the very first time by looking at this picture on Twitter 4 years ago.  This picture simply told me we can choose what we want to see in our life but not so many people are aware with this privilege. Some of them are saying “I can’t change that, it is my destiny already”. Since I am majoring International Relations, I studied a subject called ‘Foreign Policy’. In this subject, my lecturer told me that even when a country choose to not choosing any sides, not producing any policies, or just being silent on certain issues in international relations realm, it is counted as a foreign policy of a country because it is impacted the country position and situation and it is counted as a decision. Then back to our human life, when we think it is already our destiny, it means that we decide to not doing anything about it over choosing another actual possible path....

Book Review: How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age by Dale Carnegie and Associates

Gambar
"People who h ave big sphere of influence is more than just smart communicator" This book is an updated version of the original book titled "How to Win Friends and Influence People" published in October 1936 by Dale Carnegie and becoming the timeless best-selling book. This updated version published in 2011 is created by the idea how social media becomes a massive platform for people to communicate their minds. In this book, it mentions social media like Twitter and Facebook (popular social media in 20th century). But, it will not talk about how to gain followers and likes in those platforms to be influencer since that is not the real definition of people with big sphere of influence, so do not worry, you do not have to start buying follower or likes hehe :) First of all, let me tell the background how I gotta read this book.  This belongs to my sister since 2016, I remember bought it with her and had no interest to read this (since I don't enjoy read...

Love and To be Loved in Sampoerna - My Social Class

Gambar
Have you ever felt to be the best in the class in terms of academic achievements? Have you ever felt to win over your classmates in terms of academic score? Have you ever felt scared of helping them out so they can go beyond your score?  Let us be honest to our feelings. I am sure that there are some people who have that kind of thought. Ambition is human nature as in realist theory, it tells us that states have principle called ‘statism’ if it is applied to human in my opinion it will be defined as human thinks themselves as the main actor of this life so they need to do everything in order to achieve their personal interests. Even though this kind of theory will not be completely appeared so in nowadays human but it still exists. For the first and second questions, I think it is really fine to answer ‘yes’ but it is a big ‘no’ for the third question. I am the kind of person who used to think ‘yes’ for all the above questions until high school. when I was 10th grader...
